Make your mom feel special on Mother’s Day this year with these gift ideas!

Updated: Dec 15, 2021

“Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.” – Robert Browning
Family time is the best time!

We know without a doubt that there are many travel-loving moms out there, so we worked together to come up with some gifts or other ideas that are sure to make your mom feel special on Mother’s Day this year!

We love the saying, “Choose experiences over things.” If it’s possible to give an experience instead of a physical gift, we believe that those memories are the best type of gift. However, this list will include a mix of ideas to cover the different circumstances that many are experiencing right now.

Quick plug: If you are looking for a travel destination for a mother-daughter getaway this Mother’s Day, check out our blog post on that topic HERE.

1. A massage or spa day:

Being a mom is a constant job! Gifting your mom a nice spa treatment, or even a full spa-day, is hard to pass up. Going together is a great way to have a nice, relaxing day together. Before you think this has to be very costly, there are often a lot of discounted massages and similar services available through sites like Groupon. Just be sure to stick to places with good reviews! If you want something that will last longer, the Breo Scalp Mini is a great option that is small and portable enough to fit in a travel bag. It’s definitely easy to appreciate a good scalp massage!

2. A wine or food box subscription:

This is one of those things that people would love to have, but often don’t treat themselves with, which makes it an easy choice! A subscription like this is a unique way to give your mom her fix of interesting food or wine so that she can feel like she is getting a taste of other countries at home! With so many options for these services nowadays, it can be tough to choose, but here are some popular options that rank highly: Winc, Wine of the Month Club, Home Chef, & Sun Basket.

3. A cute travel planner:

For us, starting to plan out future trips is one thing that helps keep us sane! This very cute planner is a favorite because it includes sections for flight details, packing lists, journaling, & more. A great fit for a mom that loves to plan! Check it out HERE.

4. Tickets to a future event:

Can we be optimistic about the world opening up somewhat soon? If you are comfortable with that optimism, getting a pair of tickets to a concert, comedy show, play, or any show that you know your mom would be into, makes for a special gift! The only time this has been a problem for us was in 2020, when naturally, all events were pushed to 2021…But at least we STILL have something to look forward to!

We LOVE events! This is us at Hamilton.

5. A classy anti-theft travel bag:

We searched for a long time for a reasonably priced leather backpack for travel, and we would recommend this one as gift-worthy! The extra plus for travelers is that it has an “anti-theft” design while still looking good. Check it out HERE.

6. A family class or lesson:

Do a class together where you can both learn something new! We love the idea of a painting class at Wine & Design (there may be other places that do this near you), a cooking class, or even yoga. You can choose whether you want to do something with a group of people, or personalize it for just you, but you can’t go wrong with something unique!

7. Noise-cancelling headphones:

This is the pricier gift that keeps on giving! Whether your mom is at home trying to get some peace and quiet or trying to block out crying babies on a plane, noise-cancelling headphones are a must. This is another gift idea with many options to choose from, but the headphones that we have tried and loved to-date are:

A less expensive, quality option for starters:

We hope that you all find a nice way to make your mom feel special this Mother’s Day, regardless of gifts. Sometimes time spent together is all she really wants. We wish a great Mother’s Day to you moms out there!

Are there any other gifts that you are leaning towards? Share with us in the comments!
