"Beauty of style and harmony and grace and good rhythm depend on simplicity." - Leonardo da Vinci
This one is for our fellow travel ladies! There is an important additional step to consider when we’re packing for a trip and that is – which skincare products, makeup products, and extras are we going to squeeze into that travel bag?!
We aren’t the type to bring along every product we own on our travels because we honestly don’t wear a lot of makeup on travel days (unless we’re getting glammed up for the occasional night out). However, some fundamental items have become our travel beauty must-haves over the years. Keeping it simple with these items definitely helps reduce any unwanted breakouts and dry skin common with airplanes and jetlag!

Makeup must-haves:
-NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30: This shout-out is well deserved! This is one of the best tinted moisturizers we have found because it never feels too heavy during a long day. The natural botanicals also hydrate and improve your skin tone over time.
-Brow Pencil: Of course, brows fame the face, so we always have a brow pencil handy! We love this Maybelline Eyebrow Definer Pencil, but there are many similar ones out there.
-Eyeliner/Mascara: In our opinion, eye liners are a dime a dozen because we are too chicken to use liquid liner, but our go-to mascara has been the Maybelline Colossal for years!
-Glossier Cloud Paint: This can be used as blush, lip stain, and more. We love versatile products like it.
-Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm: It’s tough to wear a heavy lipstick or gloss all day long, but tinted lip balms are our favorite! Burt’s Bees balm in the color red dahlia is beautiful and seems to look great on everyone.
-Setting Powder: A great, cheap option is the E.L.F. HD powder. It helps to keep the oil and shine at bay throughout the day.
Skincare must-haves:
-AM Vitamin C Moisturizer: We like to use a moisturizer with Vitamin C in the morning because it helps to protect your skin throughout the day. One of our favorites is the Derma E Vitamin C Renewing Moisturizer.
-MORE SUNSCREEN! In addition to the tinted moisturizer, we use EltaMD sunscreen because it looks and feels great under makeup and adds additional sun protection. It also is safe for oily and break-out prone skin.
-Makeup Wipes: We know that people freak out about make up wipes! As long as you cleanse again after using one (double-cleanse always), we think they are a great way to get the initial grime and makeup off. They are especially helpful in a time crunch. Try to find a version without added fragrance, like Neutrogena’s.
-CereVe Foaming Facial Cleanser: The go-to cleanser for us to wash the day off. It’s gentle yet effective.
-PM CereVe Facial Moisturizer: Love to use this at night because it has hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, both great ingredients for your skin!
-Pimple Patches: These Mighty Pimple Patches are magic! It’s so grossly satisfying to see the gunk that it pulls out of your pores overnight. We use these when we feel a new blemish coming on.
-Dr. Dennis Gross Extra Strength Peel Pads: If your skin is feeling extra congested or dull, pull out one of these bad boys and it’s like a hotel facial…Just in your hotel room!
Extra Favorites:
-Travel Bottles: Never forget the 3.4 ounce (100 milliliters) liquid limit for air travel. Travel bottles are a lifesaver when you want to bring along your favorites that are too large! Many of these products also come in smaller versions.
-Travel Makeup Bag: Our favorite right now is the INVODA Travel Cosmetic Bag because you can fit a lot of goodies in it and always find what you’re looking for.
-Beauty Blender: The OG foundation sponge. Does anyone not know about this at this point?
-Tweezers: Another crucial item! We have put them in our carry on and not had an issue, but you may want to put it in your checked baggage just in case.
-Dry Shampoo: This product is a great way to revive dull or greasy hair when you don’t have time for a full shower and blow-dry. OGX makes an effective and cheap option!
That just about covers our beauty must-haves on our trips! We probably forgot some items, but definitely let us know if there’s something you always bring that we didn’t mention in the comments!
As always, thanks so much for reading!
